Without a doubt, this property, the building & gardens are stunning! I'm not quite sure what constitutes a 4* for this hotel.||We stayed in the family room, 318. Very clean, without a doubt, and so is the Premier Inn down the road. The …
Can't say much about the state of the rooms but was disappointed with the quality and quantity of the afternoon tea that we had there. The sandwiches tasted of poor quality. The scones were cooked fresh but crumbled into smallbits when I took a couple of bites. The tea went cold by the time the sandwiches and sweet treats came to us. The desserts were awful and of cheap quality. We didn't enjoy the afternoon tea here at all and there wasn't much of it. I have had better elsewhere and in bigger quantity. Don't waste your time or money here.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the wonderful team at this most beautiful hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Shout out to Marius, Sophie and Atlanta on reception, Mihaela in housekeeping, Christian on breakfasts, Courtney on …
We went to this lovely old building for a cream tea to celebrate my father's 100th birthday. We had a fantastic experience with a magnificent afternoon tea. The staff could not have looked after us better, and wanted photos taken with father as they had never met a 100yr old before. They even decorated plates and dishes wishing him happy birthday.
The location and the building impressive in themselves but we had superb views over the gardens as well. I look forward to my return.
This hotel has a lot of potential. I want to point out that it’s part of the Best Western brand so do not expect luxury. The buildings and grounds are gorgeous, and there is a long history dating back to the 1500s. We stayed in the Devereux suite. The large room felt like we were living in royalty and the bathroom was huge, but like the entire hotel, it needs some updating. I do understand the current owners purchased the hotel after years of it being vacated, which is the reasoning. The staff seemed bothered most of the time but was accommodating. I recommend doing the afternoon tea. Make sure you do a reservation since this books up. I was disappointed the hotel did not focus more on its history with explanations of the rooms and giving tours to the guests.
Was taken there for an afternoon tea as a birthday treat. An impressive building sets the scene. The interiors are beautiful. The tea was very good with some of the largest scones seen on a tea. Really enjoyed it
Recent visit back to Brum to see family, and stayed at CBHH.|We had 2 rooms, a family with 3 beds and a double for eldest.|Apart from the lack of light bulbs in family room, very spacious and comfortable for 4 of us. Double was again very …
Lovely 2 night stay. Room was huge and really comfortable, with a clean, spacious bathroom. Evening meal was really tasty, and fancier than I expected. Only downside is the rooms don't have central heating, only an electric heater, which meant the room was cold upon arrival - although it did heat up quickly.
